I neglect my talents
I am Lilian Acholla, a counsellor, mentor, and Sunday school teacher. I have been involved with LID as a volunteer for the past two years directly handling issues of counselling.
The street families are lovely people with needs like everybody else. LID has consistently taken care of their psychological, emotional, spiritual and physical needs. Once a month, they hold an outreach programme within Deliverance Church Intl. Eastleigh premises where the street families are invited to share a meal, the word of God, receive donations e.g. clothes, shoes, diaper, sanitary towel etc. It is amazing and fulfilling to be part of this.
Through this program, I have witnessed lives being transformed, some people reunited with their families, others have gone through rehabilitation and a number of them have been sponsored through school-at different levels including university and one of them has moved to start his own family.
The work is much but the labourers are few. Your time, gift of love and finances will help us to achieve more and extend our work to many still out there and do more in the coming years. I would encourage you to support LID in whatever way you can, and may God bless you!
